I captured this photo while descending from the top of Mt. St. John, the incredible rocky backdrop of Kotor, Montenegro on a gorgeous day. I wanted to illustrate the multi dimensional aspect and placement of this contemporary establishment.

We were in Montenegro because of a colleague, architect and Honorary US Consul, Steve Chucovich. We NEVER expected a contemporary design space of Dojmi in Kotor, Montenegro. We lived there for a couple weeks in March 2013. At the edge of the 15th century walled village of Kotor, is a large caffe bar restaurant named Dojmi.

We enjoyed cappuccino in the sunshine on the terrace in March followed by beers, football and mexican cuisine on many rainy evenings. It was designed by Dender Architects at http://www.denderarch.com/about-us/

More images in the story to follow….

Split, Croatia Caffe Luxor. Many visits during January and March-April 2013 to “Review the situation” ended April 14th on a typically sunny Mediterranean day in Dalmatia. Coffee was part of the culture. And, it’s fine cappuccino with just the right amount of hot expresso and tight, luxurious amounts of foam. Then I could see this image.
